10-11-2007: Finished more forest stages ok but gear lever came out again. Got to service and dinner halt and fixed the gearlever more permanently this time with trusty lockwire.
More forest stages after dinner halt and then tricky navigation section on single track mountain road with very tight timing. Just managed to complete this on time leaving one last forest stage to end the day.
At the start we were told there was a car off near the end of the stage and when we got there we did the same thing and got stuck in the mud. Couldn't get out and so we had to wait for a tow truck when the stage closed. By the time we got going again we arrived at the next time control over the time limit and so we were excluded from the rally, c'est la vie! (photos to follow). |

Car in Parc Ferme at lunchtime halt beside Llandow Racing Circuit. Two stages around Llandow now completed and we are now on our way to the Welsh Forest stages.
Finished two forest stages ok. Managed to fix the misfire when someome noticed our brake lights were flashing on and off because of a faulty switch. This must have sending a signal to the engine ECU.

Had a problem on the first and second stages, gearlever came off! Managed to fix it with a pair of scissors, a pair of pliers and some wire.
Dave also turned the main electric switch off again during the stage so we had a second major panic.
We got a maximum time of 10 minuted on both stages but at least we are still going... |

End of the first day and we managed to find time for a beer in the bar. Two stages tonight and a navigation section.
We got to Parc Ferme at 10.15pm and we are now lying 41st overall out of 120 starters. A hard day tomorrow starting at 7:00am finishing at 10:00pm. |
