The Revival Rally Revives
the flavour and spirit of the RAC Rally. This new event is for 1400cc
Endurance Rally cars, with a separate Clubman’s category for
totally standard cars. From the York start on November 25th 2004,
overnight in Carlise, the three day route visits authentic venues
from the pages of RAC Rally history - the Yorkshire Dales - Keilder
- the Welsh forests - Epynt and more..... and the latest news is
that we have received an offer to finish with a flourish in the centre
of Cheltenham...
The Lombard Revival Rally -
Lombard - who sponsored the RAC Rally from 1960 to 1994 - have
agreed to support our event. Neil Wilson, the latest competitor
to enter, who won "The Lombard" in 1985, welcomed their return
to rallying: "This is great news - now we really are driving
The Lombard!".... with Lombard on the doors, the Revival Rally
is a true revival.
Traditional RAC Rally venues from the York
start.... through the Yorkshire Dales and rattling the chimney
pots of the roof of England, into Scotland, on through Kielder
at midnight, snatch some rest in Carlisle and on down to Chester....
by now you will be well in the groove, just as well, as a full
length of Wales awaits. with the final test section in a closed
street at 9.0pm in front of late-night shoppers in the middle of
Cheltenham’s
shopping-district, a fantastic end to a terrific event. And clubmen
just like you will be collecting all of the trophies.
